BTS SUGA’s solo concert film “Agust D TOUR D-DAY THE MOVE” made the highest profit among live performance films around the world this year.
In a release released by the film distributor Trafalgar Releasing, the film, which was screened from the 10th to the 14th of this month, recorded a worldwide profit of $116 million (about 14.1 billion won).
The distributor explained, “This is the highest-grossing film of any concert film in the United States and around the world this year and the highest-grossing film in the history of K-pop solo artists.”
Since its release, Agust D TOUR D-DAY THE MOVIE has been shown in a total of more than 3,500 movie theaters in more than 100 regions.
The distributor’s CBO said, “This is a real testament to SUGA’s artistry. It also represents a strong desire for a live movie experience worldwide, as well as showcasing his power to motivate fans.”
As SUGA’s concert film became a hit, the U.S. distributor decided to run the film until the 21st.
SUGA successfully wrapped up its world tour last year, performing in front of more than 300,000 audiences in 10 cities.

해당 영화 배급사 Trafalgar Releasing이 발표한 자료에서 이달 10∼14일 상영된 이 영화는 전 세계에서 1천16만달러(약 141억원)의 수익을 기록했다.
배급사 측은 “이는 올해 미국 및 전 세계 콘서트 영화 중 가장 높은 수익을 올린 작품이다. K팝 솔로 아티스트 사상 가장 높은 수익을 올린 영화”라고 설명했다.
Agust D TOUR D-DAY THE MOVIE는 개봉 후 100개 이상의 지역에서 총 3천500개 이상의 영화관에서 상영됐다.
배급사 측 CBO는 “이는 슈가의 예술성에 대한 진정한 증거다. 또한 팬들에게 동기를 부여하는 그의 힘을 보여줄 뿐만 아니라 전 세계적으로 실황 영화 경험에 대한 강한 열망을 의미한다”고 말했다.
슈가의 콘서트 영화가 흥행하면서 미국 배급사 측은 해당 영화를 21일까지 상영하기로 결정했다.
슈가는 지난해 10개 도시에서 30만명이 넘는 관객 앞에서 공연하며 성공적으로 월드 투어를 마무리했다.
